Close a Test Assignment

Test assignments close automatically when their end date is reached, but the steps in this topic walks you through the process to close an assignment as needed. In certain instances, it may be necessary to close a test assignment before the assignment's scheduled end date to ensure the smooth management of your organization's testing process. This action can be beneficial for a variety of reasons, such as closing access to test content, finalizing reporting, or preparing for the creation of a new assignment for another group of students in the same grade or grades.

Note: When the status of a Test Assignment is Closed:

Students are not able to select tests from their assignment page, regardless of status (not started, in progress, complete).

Educators are not able to view assignments, extend time, or cancel subtests on each students’ portfolio page.

Elevate stops processing most roster updates. Results are displayed as a snapshot at the point in time in which the test assignment was closed.
