DataGrader is a companion utility to Riverside® DataManager™. The DataGrader application enables you to scan your DataManager answer sheets with a scanner and send only a data file containing student answers to Riverside for scoring. Riverside will produce your score reports and post them to DataManager.
The DataGrader scanning solution consists of three components:
● Answer sheets printed from DataManager Test Assignments page
● The DataGrader application, which handles the scanning of answer sheets and uploading of the scanned answers to Riverside
● A readily available off-the-shelf scanner that is commonly used in home offices or small businesses (See Scanner Requirements.)
This section describes the DataGrader scanning solution—from setting up and installing the scanner to uploading the scanned images of your answer sheets. The implementation process consists of these steps:
1. Set up your scanner and connect it to a dedicated computer. See Installing the Scanner.
2. Download, install, and configure the DataGrader application. See Installing DataGrader.
3. Scan your answer sheets and upload the images to DataManager. See Scanning.
4. View results from your scanning sessions and resolve scanning errors. See Viewing Results.
5. Send your scanning results to scoring. See Sending to Scoring.
