Overview

DataManager provides the tools to create and manage online test sessions, both self-paced and proctor-led. These sessions can be administered at any time within the test event time frame.

*Proctoring may be conducted by individuals with the following DataManager roles and privileges: Proctor, Teacher, Administrator, Super Admin, or Account Holder.

For online testing, proctors and students move through the test by interacting with DataManager prompts. For example, a proctor opens a test session, allowing students to sign in; students sign in, causing their names to appear in the proctor's waiting-for-approval list; the proctor approves the students for testing. These prompts, actions, and triggers continue through the beginning of testing until students finish testing and the proctor closes the session.

Test Administration Process Flow

The following steps comprise the test administration process.

Important: Before you start, download and review the instructions in the Directions for Online Administration booklet for the test and level you are administering.

Step 1: Sign in to the DataManager Proctor application

If you are a Proctor, use one of these methods to sign in to DataManager, and the proctor platform automatically opens.

If you are a Teacher, System Administrator, or Account Holder, sign in to DataManager and start the proctor application. (You can also sign in using either of the Proctor-only methods.)

Step 2: Open the test session

Find and open the test session for the Getting Started tutorial or the test you are administering.

Note: You can create one or more test sessions at this stage. See Create a Test Session.

Step 3: Instruct students to sign in

Follow the instructions to direct students to sign in to the test.

Step 4: Confirm the student roster for this session

Review the list of students who are signed in, and assist those who are having problems. Consult student status information as needed. Resolve any student roster issues such as last-minute additions.

Step 5: Begin testing

Approve or Deny students in the waiting for approval table, then begin the Getting Started tutorial or test session. If you have already completed the Getting Started segment of the test and do not need to repeat it, move on to the next step.

Step 6: Administer the test

Step 7: Complete the test session

Verify that all students who are able have completed their tests, then Save and Close the Test Session. See About Finishing Testing to see other options for concluding or continuing the session.
